Whether your child is starting preschool, TK, kindergarten, private school, or another homeschool year, every new school year deserves to be celebrate - Inland Empire, CA
When most people think of back-to-school photos, they probably picture a child standing on the front porch with a backpack, ready to head off to their first day of school.
The truth is, not every family's school year looks the same. Some kids are starting preschool for the very first time. Others are excited to begin TK or kindergarten. Some are heading to private school, and many of my clients are preparing for another year of homeschooling. No matter what your child's classroom looks like, the start of a new school year is a milestone worth remembering.

Every Family Has Their Own Back-to-School Tradition
For some families, it's the classic front porch photo before everyone rushes out the door.
Others celebrate with a special breakfast or let their kids pick out a new backpack or lunchbox before school starts. Homeschool families often have traditions of their own. There may not be a school picture day or a classroom waiting for them, but that doesn't make the beginning of a new school year any less meaningful. I love that these mini sessions have become another way for families to celebrate this season, no matter what it looks like.
Homeschool Families Are Always Welcome
One thing I've noticed over the years is that many of my Back-to-School Mini Sessions are actually for homeschool families. Without school portraits each year, these sessions give parents updated photos of their kids while also documenting another year of learning and growing. Every year I bring out my old vintage desk and photograph kids of all ages showing off a brand-new outfit, simply smiling because they're excited for what's ahead. Every family celebrates differently, and I love getting to be a small part of that tradition.
It's About More Than the Backpack
Sure, the backpack and school supplies are fun. But years from now, those probably won't be the first things you notice. You'll see the missing front tooth that was gone a few months later. The shoes that suddenly seem so tiny. The smile that changed before the next school year rolled around. Those are the little details that make these sessions so fun to look back on.
A Quick Way to Capture a Big Milestone
My Back-to-School Mini Sessions are designed to be simple and stress-free. They're short enough to keep little ones engaged while still giving you updated portraits you'll be excited to share with family and friends. Whether your child is heading into preschool, kindergarten, another homeschool year, or somewhere in between, it's a fun way to document the beginning of a new chapter.
Every School Year Is Worth Remembering
No two families do school the exact same way, and that's one of my favorite things about these sessions. Whether your child is walking into a classroom for the first time or you're opening the books around your own kitchen table, every new school year deserves to be celebrated. If you're looking for Back-to-School Mini Sessions in the Inland Empire, I'd love to help you capture this season before another school year flies by.
