FAQ

What types of photography services do you offer?

I offer family photography sessions in the Inland Empire, including family portraits, motherhood and mommy and me sessions, senior and graduation photos, milestone sessions such as first birthdays, and couples or anniversary sessions. I also offer limited mini sessions throughout the year.

My sessions are designed to feel natural and easy, with a mix of direction and candid moments.

How do I book a photography session with you?

To book a session, start by filling out the contact form on my website. I’ll get back to you with availability and answer any questions you have. Once we choose a date that works for your family, I’ll send over a contract and retainer/ deposit invoice to secure your spot.

After that, I’ll help guide you through everything from location to outfits so the process feels easy and organized.

Can we choose the location for our photo shoot?

To ensure consistent lighting and overall quality, I photograph sessions at a select group of locations throughout the Inland Empire. I’ll provide options and help you choose one that fits your style and vision.

At this time, I do not offer beach sessions. Some locations may also require a permit or travel fee, which I’ll go over with you during booking.

How long does a typical photo session last?

Full sessions usually last 45 to 75 minutes depending on the collection you select. Mini sessions are shorter, typically around 20 minutes, with some specialty minis being closer to 5–10 minutes

How long does it take to receive the final edited photos?

Final edited photos are delivered within 3 weeks of your session via an online gallery.

What happens if the weather is unfavorable on the day of an outdoor shoot?

If the weather is unfavorable, I will always try to reschedule your session when possible. I monitor conditions closely and will reach out ahead of time if we need to make a change.

Full sessions are typically easier to move, while mini sessions are more limited due to set dates. In those cases, I’ll communicate the best available option so you’re not left unsure of what to expect.

What should we wear for our photo session?

Every client receives a "What to Wear' guide. This helps when making outfit selections so everything feels cohesive without being overly complicated. I’ll help you choose pieces that photograph well with your location and the overall look you’re going for.

In general, neutral tones, soft textures, and outfits that allow for movement tend to work best. The goal is to keep the focus on your family, not the clothing.

What if my kids don’t cooperate during the session?

This is completely normal and something I plan for. I don’t expect kids to sit still or behave perfectly. Sessions are designed to allow for movement, breaks, and real interaction.

Some of the best moments come from letting kids be themselves. I’ll guide you through the session in a way that keeps things relaxed so it doesn’t feel stressful for you or your child.

Do you help with posing?

Yes. I guide you through the entire session so you’re never left wondering what to do.

My approach is a mix of gentle direction and natural interaction. I’ll guide you into positions that feel comfortable, then allow space for real moments to happen so your photos don’t feel overly posed.

How many images will we receive?

The number of images depends on the type of session and the collection you choose. Each gallery is thoughtfully curated to include a variety of images that reflect your session without overwhelming you with duplicates.

You’ll receive a strong, well-rounded gallery that tells the story of your session. From there, you will pick your favorites. You always have the option to purchase any additional images outside of your collection amount.

When is the best time of day for photos?

All of my outdoor sessions take place during the hour or so before sunset, often referred to as golden hour. This is when the light is soft and flattering, which helps create the natural look you see in my work.

I’ll guide you on timing based on the season and your location so everything comes together well.

Do you offer mini sessions or only full sessions?

I offer both full sessions and a limited number of mini sessions throughout the year.

Mini sessions are scheduled on specific dates and are shorter in length, while full sessions offer more flexibility, time, and variety. I can help you decide which option is the best fit for your family.

What areas do you serve?

I photograph sessions throughout the Inland Empire, including Redlands, Beaumont, Yucaipa. My clients come from all over the surrounding areas like Riverside, Moreno Valley, Fontana, Rancho Cucamonga and more.

All sessions take place at pre-selected locations that I know photograph well in different lighting and seasons.

What is required to reserve a session?

To reserve your session, a signed contract and retainer are required. Once those are completed, your date is officially secured.

From there, I’ll guide you through the planning process so everything feels organized and easy leading up to your session.

Can extended family join our session?

Unfortunately, no. Extended family sessions are not something I currently offer. My sessions are designed for immediate families (mom, dad, and kids only) so I can keep the experience relaxed and focused.

What happens after we receive our gallery?

Once your gallery is delivered, you’ll be able to view your images and select your favorites. The number of images included depends on the collection you chose when booking. You’ll have the option to stick with that selection or upgrade to receive the full gallery.

From there, you’re free to download and use your images however you’d like, whether that’s printing, sharing, or keeping them digitally. I do not offer prints or albums at this time.

Do you travel outside the Inland Empire for sessions?

Unfortunately, no At this time, sessions take place within the Inland Empire at pre-selected locations. This helps ensure consistent lighting, quality, and overall experience.

Do you provide raw or unedited images?

No, I do not provide raw or unedited images. Editing is a key part of the final result, and all delivered images are carefully selected and edited to reflect the quality and style of my work.

Can someone other than a parent book a session for a minor?

For anyone under the age of 18, all booking, contracts, and communication must be completed directly with a parent or legal guardian. This helps ensure everyone is informed and on the same page throughout the planning process.

Can someone else book a session as a gift?

No. At this time, I do not offer gift certificates or prepaid sessions. I work directly with the individual or family who will be photographed throughout the planning and booking process to ensure the best possible experience from start to finish.

What makes a great Heidi Grace Photography client?

The best sessions happen when we're on the same team.

My clients trust me to guide them, embrace the beautiful imperfections that come with photographing real families, and choose me because they genuinely love the style you see throughout my portfolio. My goal isn't to recreate someone else's work or follow the latest editing trends. It's to create timeless images that feel authentic to your family and true to the heart of Heidi Grace Photography.

If that sounds like the experience you're looking for, I'd love to work with you.
