Phelan, Ca - Southern California Desert in the Inland Empire


The landscape at this location is nothing short of STUNNING. As sunlight bathes the sandstone formations, the rocks come alive with hues of warm browns, oranges, and reds, creating a surreal and enchanting scene. This is the perfect spot for a family session.


I've known the H family since early 2016. Over the years, I've captured family, maternity, and motherhood sessions for them. After I came back from my 3 year hiatus, I didn't expect many of my past family's to contact me going forward. So much time had gone by and it was expected they had moved on with another photographer. When I received the message from mama that they wanted to book a family session with me, I was over the moon!


Because this family is seasoned when it comes to family photos, they were looking for a new and unique spot to use this time around. The desert in Southern California is rich with variety and can be the perfect neutral backdrop to any kind of session. We were lucky, and there were still plenty of wildflowers on site. We had so much rain in 2023, the plants and flowers managed to stay in bloom and lush through the summer. The kids ran around and played on the beautiful rock formations and I was able to sneak mom and dad away for some parent shots. Everything about this session with this gorgeous family was perfect!


Southern California, specifically the Inland Empire, has some of the most underrated locations in the state! This session was a dream and I had so much fun with this family. I can't wait to visit this spot again in 2024!
