It’s hard to believe, isn’t it? One minute you’re packing lunches and signing permission slips, and the next you’re watching your almost-grown child step into their senior year...confident, capable, and ready to take on the world.


This recent back-to-school mini session in Yucaipa, CA was a perfect reminder that senior photos aren’t just about marking the end of high school, they’re about celebrating who your child is right now, in this incredible in-between moment. As an Inland Empire senior photographer, I love getting to pause time for families who are standing on the edge of change. Because this season? It’s fleeting, and it deserves to be remembered.


The Beauty of a Back-to-School Mini for Seniors

There’s something so special about these shorter, milestone sessions. They’re quick, easy to fit into a busy schedule, and yet they capture so much personality and emotion. For this session, my senior client brought all the excitement and anticipation that comes with the start of senior year. With the perfect mix of pride, nerves, and hope for everything ahead. It was relaxed, real, and full of the kind of moments that make you smile long after the session ends.


For Moms: The Shift You’ve Been Feeling

Let’s be honest, senior year feels different. There’s pride, of course, but also that quiet ache that reminds you your little one isn’t so little anymore. You start to notice the “lasts”. The last homecoming, last first day of school, last time they need you to remind them to grab their lunch. That’s why sessions like this matter. They freeze the now, not just your child’s smile, but their spirit, independence, and the love you’ve poured into raising them.
